Series description provided by Anime News Network Roughly translated, this series is called Because I Don't Like My Big Brother At All--!! Never before had I seen such a blatant Tsundere title in all the series I have seen. And Nao's attitude towards her brother is typical of a Tsundere character...to a point. She is blatant in what it is she wants out of her brother, but then slams the door right in his face...and his crotch...figuratively speaking. Oniichan is one of the most perverted non-hentai anime series I have ever seen. It falls in third place behind Golden Boy and Green Green in my opinion. This series covered all the current Japanese fetishes. Black stockings...check. OTK socks and swimsuit...check. Boys Love Manga...check. You name it, this series covered it. And the worst part about this all, was that it was a Sister/Brother thing. I know what you're thinking... "That's sick! That's incest!" Well, here's a spoiler for ya which is revealed in the first episode. It's the whole Greg and Marsha Brady thing all over again. Nao and Shuusuke aren't blood related. Nao was adopted by Shuu's family when she was little. So the whole "I wanna do my brother" thing... well it's not as creepy as implied...but it's still creepy. Throw in the lost childhood friend who has the hots for him, and the class rep who has the hots for him but makes him buy dirty books for her...and you've got one intriguing love square, which only gets more complicated as the series continues. The first few episodes were pure perversion. I was at a point after the third episode where I was considering dropping the series. But I've made mistakes like that in the past, so I forged on ahead. The series got better, with less perversion and more comedy, so the balance started to get better and something more watchable. This is truly a pervert's anime series. Personally, I don't think I would rewatch it, but I wouldn't rule out a possibility. All I'll say about this is, make sure you're alone when you're watching this. It's not one of those kinds of series you want someone catching you watching...kinda like listening to Spice Girls music...ouch I just burned myself, didn't I? |
