Hey guys.
I'm on the staff of a little convention called "Con on the Cob" and we're in the pre-preparation stages for 2007. The official focus of the con is on fantasy art and roleplaying, but it's really more of a general geek convention. I'm in charge of the video room, so of course I make sure there's plenty of anime on the schedule. My problem is that we don't really have any *other* anime programming right now, so if someone came to the convention just for the anime, they'd probably have quite a let-down. I want to expand our offerings this year to have a seminar or two, and would love to include some other anime-based activities. But I'm very aware that *most* of the con-goers won't be there for the anime, so I don't want to go overboard. Like, I think it's too early to think about inviting big-name guests or anything like that. (Although if you can think of anyone anime-ish who might also be geared toward fantasy art/rpg's, that might be pretty darn cool.) Anyway, I'm just in the brainstorming phase on this, so I thought I'd see if y'all had any suggestions... If you were going to a general media, roleplaying, or geek convention that had a small anime track, what sorts of activities, seminars, or workshops would you like to see? |
