For those who haven't been over to Anime On DVD today, the front page has a bunch of red lettering spelling out a website url that is here http://asosbrigade.com/

It seems someone has licenced The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya though so far no one is certain who. However, it seems we should know Friday who has the show.

My bet is on Kadokawa Pictures USA being the group who has it. That would mean they would probably be putting it out in a similar manner to Full Metal Panic: Second Raid, which would mean ADV Films, Funimation, or both, would be involved with the dub and distribution but that's just my personal theory, your milage may vary ;).

I couldn't be happier about this news. I loved Haruhi, and any company lucky enough to license it will have pulled off the biggest coup of the year. I can only hope that a release won't be too far off down the line. :)

And the word is now in. The Licensor of Haruhi Suzumiya is.....

Bandai Entertainment

Nobody thought it was going to be Bandai, and they pulled off quite the coup. Now, hopefully they will be able to do this series justice. I can't wait to hear about news on this eventual release!!
