The game is over. It only took two rounds to complete. And now, here is the final cast list for ADV's new SDF Macross Dub.

"Janice Williams"

MACROSS:
2009. Ten years of furious conflict and frenzied construction have turned an alien wreck into a human triumph: the colossal space battleship Macross. On the day of the ship’s launch, the world waits with bated breath to witness mankind’s next giant leap. Hovering above the planet though, the Zentradi, a merciless warrior race, seek to advance their agenda of destruction and conquest. When long-dormant systems aboard the Macross suddenly fire upon the alien fleet, the ship meant to preserve humanity may become its undoing. A war of attrition erupts, taking mankind across the solar system and beyond in a fight to justify its existence!

VITAL INFO:
ADR Director: Matt Greenfield
Translation: Javier Lopez
ADR Script: Mike Yantosca
ADV Studios

Hikaru Ichijo - Voiced by Vic Mignogna - Hikaru is a happy-go-lucky teenage stunt flyer who is drawn into Space War 1 by his fateful visit to South Ataria Island. Hikaru is a seven time winner of the Best Amateur Stunt Pilot award.

Lynn Minmay – Voiced by Mari Iijima - Minmay is a fairly typical high school girl who dreams of being a singer. In fact, she lives with her aunt and uncle because her aunt was more supportive of her dreams than her parents. She works as a waitress at her aunt and uncle's restaurant.

Misa Hayase - Voiced by Monica Rial - Misa is a by-the-book officer who graduated first in her military academy class before receiving her plum assignment as a senior officer on the bridge of the Macross. She was born into a family of career military officers, and her friends often joke that she values duty over romance.

Captain Global - Voiced by John Swasey - Captain Global rose through the ranks of the United Nations Forces thanks to his exploits during the Unification Wars. He has helmed ships ranging from a naval submarine and space destroyer to the flagship of the infant Spacy: the Macross fortress.

Lynn Kaifun - Voiced by Chris Ayres - Minmay's older, protective cousin. Kaifun is an expert martial artist who despises the military.

THE COUPLE:
Roy Focker - Voiced by Brett Weaver - Roy first flew as a stunt pilot in the air circus lead by Hikaru's father and later joined the United Nations Forces as a fighter pilot. Despite his long absence during the Unification Wars and the death of Hikaru's father, Hikaru remains close to Roy and considers him his sempai. After the end of that war, he involved himself in the VF-X development project (the predecessor of the VF-1 Valkyrie), and his experience earned him the command of the VF-1 Skull Squadron aboard the CVS-01 Prometheus.

Claudia LaSalle - Voiced by Christine Auten - Claudia is the second senior officer on the bridge of the Macross and Misa's best friend. She is level-headed and calm, well capable of doing her job. However, unlike Misa, she has a fun-loving side as well, and is romantically involved with Roy Focker.

THE BRIDGE BUNNIES:
These three girls are the junior members of the Macross' bridge crew. They are a tight-knit bunch that look up to and admire their senior officers, although they are not above gossiping about Misa's love-life, or lack thereof.

Shammy Milliome - Voiced by Hilary Haag - Shammy appears to be the youngest of the Bridge Bunnies. She is certainly the most excitable. She has long reddish-brown hair.

Vanessa Laird - Voiced by Nancy Novotny - Somewhat more serious than the other two, but only by a little bit, Vanessa has medium-length brown hair and wears glasses. She can exert a stabilizing influence on the other two when she wants to.

Kim Kabirov - Voiced by Kira Vincent Davis - Kim has short, black hair. She is less flighty than Shammy, but still a fun-loving girl.

THE ZENTRADI MEN
Britai Kridanik - Voiced by John Gremillion - Imposing even by Zentradi standards, Britai is in charge of a large task force searching for Supervision Army survivors. In the process of this search, he stumbles across the Macross and the Humans who rebuilt it.

Exedol Folmo - Voiced by Andy McAvin - Exedol Folmo, a Zem First Class Official of the Britai Fleet, is the "Archivist," a living memory bank. His memory capacity is said to surpass any electronic device that ever existed, as he keeps details of every combat in the Zentradi history for instant recall. Although very small for a Zentradi, he is Britai's trusted advisor and right-hand man.

Kamjin Kravshera - Voiced by Illich Guardiola - Officially, the hot-headed and head-strong Kamjin is the commander of the 7th Aerial Armored Division of the Gorg Main Fleet's 109th Branch Fleet. However, he is more infamous among the Zentradi ranks for his impatient trigger finger and lack of concern for the lives of his own troops. This has earned Kamjin the nickname "Ally-Killer."

THE ZENTRADI WOMEN
Milia Fallyna - Voiced by Luci Christian - Milia is renowned as a Zentradi ace even among her male counterparts, and is respected for her prowess in her powered suit. A beautiful and highly talented fighter, Milia is also an intelligent and strong-willed woman.

Moruk Laplamiz - Voiced by Tiffany Grant - Kamjin's counterpart, Moruk is the leader of the female contingent of the Zentradi fleet. She rules her forces with a firm, but fair hand. She is fearless, but understands the value of the occasional strategic retreat.

HIKARU’S SQUAD MEMBERS
Maximilian Jenius - Voiced by Chris Patton - Maximilian is simply without equal in a Valkyrie cockpit. Even without the guidance of a mentor (as Hikaru had in Roy Focker), he rapidly rises in the ranks and becomes one of the top aces in the Spacy fleet. His unusually deep voice is a great asset in his second favorite occupation, picking up women.

Hayao Kakizaki - Voiced by Jason Douglas - Big, gruff and easygoing, Hayao is a competent, but not necessarily brilliant pilot.

MINMAY’S FAMILY
Lynn Feichun (Minmay's Aunt) - Voiced by Kelly Manison - With her husband serving as chief chef, Minmay's aunt runs a Chinese restaurant on South Ataria Island. After the city is transported into space with the Macross, they re-open the restaurant on board the ship to serve both the crew of the ship and the civilian population stranded on board.

Lynn Shaochin (Minmay's Uncle) - Voiced by George Manley - A gruff but jovial man, he performs most of the cooking chores at the restaurant.

Yotchan - Voiced by Tiffany Grant - Minmay's much younger cousin. His is prone to getting into minor trouble and takes up a great deal of Minmay's time to watch after him.

THE ZENTRADI SPIES
These three rank and file Zentradi soldiers are "miclonized" and sent to the Macross as spies. Not entirely suited for their job, they experience great initial difficulties fitting into their new environment.

Warera Nantes – Voiced by Mark Laskowski - Warera has the hardest time of the three fitting in, possibly due to his uninformed wardrobe choices. He is rather chunky with red hair.

Conda Bromco – Voiced by Xero Reynolds - The tallest of the three spies, he’s the theoretical leader of the group.

Loli Dosel – Voiced by Greg Ayres - The smallest of the three spies, Loli often seems like he would be lost without the other two.

There you have it. The latest cast of the SDF Macross. Truly an All-Star Cast, with a few surprises thrown in as well.

Any thoughts on some of the casting? :)

Well, I didn't play the game, but I had Chris Patton slotted in for Max, so

/*Niko  :)

Hmmmm...Chris Ayres is definitely playing against type there, as far as the couple roles I know him from.

There's a lot of names on there that I recognize but can't place from other roles. Gotta do a bit of research to remind myself the style of some of those voices.

If you need any help, just ask. I like to consider myself to be quite a dub entheusiast. :)

I have to agree on Chris as well. I had him pegged for Max, actually. He's done some interesting roles in the past, such as Hayashimizu in FMP? FUMOFFU, but this one will really push his limits.

If Monic Rial is playing Misa, then this dub just got a whole lot better. Sorry, Rommie, I know you're a Christine Auten fan and that you wanted her to play the part... but I think I like this choice a bit more. ;) If Monica comes to Anime Boston 2006, Then I'm certainly going to get this signed.

Yeah I wanted my favorite VA to play my favorite Macross character. Just a personal preference. ;)

I really like Monica Rial as well, and she's been doing more serious roles lately. Like Jo in Burst Angel, and she was Haruka Shitow in RahXephon. So I think she'll do a great job as Misa.

I just wish it were Christine. ;)

I was also just thinking... Chris Patton has the prefect voice for Max. He also gets to play one of the most popular characters in the series. If he returns to Anime Boston this coming year, I'll have to ask him about that.

And I can see Patton as Max, although I had him pegged for Kaifun. I figured with all that angst that he's built up over so many roles, that he'd be perfect for the military hatred. Quite the opposite of his Sagara character from Full Metal Panic!. ;)

Vic as Hikaru however is one I wouldn't have guessed. This is really going to be quite the interesting dub to listen to. :)

Yeah, Vic as Hikaru is gonna be interesting.

He's usually so much more the sarcastic, sorta-edgy, wise-cracking character. I'm having difficulty imagining him as a more straightforward young hotshot.

Exactly. Everytime I hear Vic Mignogna, I think of Kurz Webber, Edward Elric, or even so far as Carrossea Doon from MADLAX.

Hearing Vic as the sensible one will be interesting. ;)

(Well, I don't usually do this sort of show-off thing but, I thought y'all might be interested to know...)

Guess who's got an unfinished copy of Macross Vol. 1 on it's way to her right now for an AOD first-look? :rollaugh:

When Chris mentioned he'd received a preview disk, I asked for it and TOTALLY didn't expect to get it. I'm a slooooow boxset-reviewer, not a previewer, after all. I'm a bit giddy. :rollaugh:

The guys for Dub-Review picked it up as well, and posted a preview.

This does surprise me however, as you usually focus on subs rather than dubs.

What enticed you to scoop this one up? :)

^Well, my default is usually subs, true, but I have developed a fair appreciation of dubs, I think.

And as we discussed briefly up-thread, Vic M. is playing against type here, so I'm really curious about how he'll do. That and (of course) getting an early chance to hear how Mari Iijima's stuff came out were the two biggest reasons why I was interested. :)

I'm also hoping, with having an appreciation for both subs and dubs, that I'll be able to have an objective approach to it. (Unless my tendency to fangirl Vic M. gets in the way. ;) )

I know the feeling all too well.

Although I'm opposite, as I usually go jello mode whenever I hear Christine's voice.......except for in Sister Princess............

^I'm in awe of how well Christine's voice fits Claudia. :)

(A not so subtle excuse for me to mention that my preview comments are up at AOD, if anyone's interested.)

I read them this afternoon. I was quite intrigued about your comments of Christine as the narrator, so I'm really looking forward to how she pulled it off. As you can tell, I've heard a lot of her roles, and most of them have fit her.......save for Mami from Sister Princess. So this will be quite intriguing.

From the sound of it though, it should be quite a listen. I can't wait for next month. :)
