OK, my little manga boards are lonely. Any of you follow much manga? I've just gotten into it in the last year or two, and I'm collecting several series at the moment. (Items marked with * below are series I'm actively collecting as soon as new volumes come out. Others, I just pick up when I get the urge or have stopped collecting.)

Translated Manga:
- Alichino 1-2
- Angel Sanctuary 1-4
- Basara 1-2
- Descendants of Darkness 1-4*
- Desire (My one yaoi manga, not counting doujinshi :bleed1: )
- Fruits Basket 1-9*******
- Hana Kimi 1-5*
- Here is Greenwood 1-4*
- Juline 2-5
- Kare Kano 1-15*
- Saiyuki 1-8*
- The Wanderer 1

Japanese Manga:
- Here is Greenwood 1-11
- Kare Kano 1-2
- Marionette Generation 1
- Please Save My Earth 1-5
- Sailor Moon 2
- Vampire Princess Yui 1-3
- Weiss Side B 1-4 *
- X 1-11, 14-15

I also currently subscribe to "Zero Sum", the monthly anthology from Japan where Weiss Side B is running. I'm a little obsessive about Weiss, and the tankouban's don't come out fast enough. :)

I've got a few manga, but not as much as I'd like. My primary focus is on the DVDs, but I'd like to think I've got a good little collection. ;)

Azumanga Daioh 1-4
Full Metal Panic 1-7
Gunparade March 1-3
Gunparade March Anthology
Cromartie High School 1
Gundam SEED 1

Yup........that's it. I've got a handful of samplers too, but none I can identify off the top of my head.

Unfortunately I don't really read a whole lot of manga. I would love to but I just don't have the time or the money to devote to it. Having said that, I do have two mangas (I doubt these will be much of a shock ;)):

Ghost in the Shell
Ghost in the Shell 2: Man-Machine Interface

Both of these are complete. I'll post a review of both of them once I am done reading them.

Most of the manga I have is fan translated, but I'm planning on buying a lot of it when I get the funds :P.

What I have actually:
Trigun 1, 2, and Trigun Maximun 1
Battle Angel Alita 1
Hikaru no Go 1
And that's about it.

Downloaded I have:
Blood Hound
Boys Next Door
Kajika
+Anima
Chrono Crusade (plan on buying)
Saiyuki (plan on buying) and Saiyuki Gaiden
Zombie Powder
Bleach (pob)
Full Metal Alchemits (pob)
Hunter x hunter
Cutlass
Deathnote (original short one)
Hikaru no Go (pob)
Black Cat
Cruel Fairytale
LiveAlive!
And more that I can't remember! :D! It's not illegal to download then as long as they haven't been liscensed, though many of the titles above have been, and I must now buy them! Which is a shame as I am going into college and will soon have even less monies than now....Oh well.
I'm an unstoppable death machine, you know.

A man said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
a sense of obligation."

So long as you don't link to any sites that contain fansubs/fanscans, then we're cool with it. You can discuss the series themselves all you want. :)

I know, Rommie, and I wasn't planning on it! :D, most of the above are liscenced anyway, so they're discontinued and I get to go buy them. But it wouldn't be prudent to link to them, eh? As, though it isn't illegal, it's only barely legal! :rollaugh: (I love this thing!)

Earlier this month I was updating The Big List o' Crap to Buy, and here are the series I'll be picking up (budget allowing) through the end of the year:

I've been told that I have... um, wide-ranging tastes. Yeah. That's a good way to put it.

Alone in My King’s Harem
Antique Bakery
Beyond My Touch
Bleach
Café Kichijouji
Cain Saga
Death Note
Dost Thou Know
Finder series
From Eroica with Love
Fruits Basket
Fullmetal Alchemist
Gamerz Heaven
Get Backers
Gravitation
Hands Off
Hikaru no Go
Hunter x Hunter
Kizuna
La Esperanca
Legal Drug
Liling Po
Naruto
No Man’s Land (not manga, strictly speaking, but I'm including it)
Peacemaker Kurogane
Prince of Tennis
Saiyuki / Saiyuki Reload
Samurai Champloo
Sword of the Dark Ones
Tactics
Tramps Like Us
Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle
Wallflower
xxxHolic
Yami no Matsui (Descendents of Darkness)
Yellow
Yotsuba
888
Category: Freaks
Alichino
Embracing Love

I've also been meaning to get back into Trigun and Samurai Deeper Kyo because hell (flailing helplessly in the general direction of the list above) what's one series more or less, but I just haven't gotten around to them yet.

Then, of course, there are the completed series --
Aquarian Age: Juvenile Orion
Azumanga Daioh
Demon Diary
Diabolo (which ripped my heart clean out, I tell you)
Fake

And a bunch of one-shots or things I bought and decided not to continue.

Man. No wonder I have so many bookcases around here.

^Oi vey, you're going to be a busy reader. :)

Definitely some eclectic tastes there. I haven't quite branched out to reading much non-anime-related manga. My focus has (mostly) been on getting more detailed or expanded stories for anime titles that I liked but that were clearly missing large chunks of plot.

I'll have to file a few of those titles away for when I'm ready to add a new series to the collection-queue. :)

RE: Death Note: Is that really being released here? Sweet. There's been so much chatter about it, I've been wanting to check it out.

"Eclectic" sounds so much nicer than "promiscuous." Thank you.

Death Note is coming out in October, so get ready! I've seen scanlations of the first volume so that's definitely on my to-buy list.

And if I may suggest one non-anime title? Check out Demon Diary. It's so freaking adorable.

Eclectic, promiscuous. Same thing. :P

I don't have any manga yet but if I ever get some extra cash, I'd love to start with the Trigun series. :)

Though I've been told that Azumanga Daioh is great as well.

I can definitely vouch for Azumanga Daioh (as if my avatar isn't indicative enough ;))

I tend to like the shows more than the mangas but I really should own a few mangas I suppose. ;)

Anyone else have recommendations? :P

I told you about Tramps Like Us when I last saw you, and I stand by that. It's very sweet and romantic, only in a twisted and dysfunctional way.

I think you'd also like Wallflower, which is all about an extremely asocial girl and the four hottie boys who are blackmailed into moving in with her and turning her into a lady. I love Sunako because she's such a sick little puppy. She loves horror movies, and she spends all her time in her darkened room talking to her skeletons and anatomical models (Akira-kun, Hiroshi-kun and Josephine), and she is literally surrounded by a dark cloud, and she just doesn't get why people think she's weird.

The series that's really putting me into a happy bouncy run*wavehands*wheeee! place, though, is Hands Off. I described it to a friend as "the perfect shonen ai starter set," which I realize might turn some people off right away. But I think it's adorable and there are very funny bits amongst the angstarama.

If you want a good shonen series, try Bleach, which has (once again) some really funny stuff between the battles, along with a really well-thought-out backstory.

That should get you started. Then there are the other twenty-odd series I'm currently following...

Why, Fruits Basket, of course. :)

Assuming you like the anime, anyway. The anime only gets up to volume 8-ish of the manga, which is up to volume 17 (and counting), so there's a big portion of the story still to go once the anime ends.

^Sweet. I'll be looking forward to a review, Rommie.

You said you've read some of the other manga, too, right? I'd be interested in a rundown of how much of the manga you've read is retelling of the anime vs. new storyline, if at all...
